Pfafftown – Goldie Mae Goad Vogler, 88, passed away August 13, 2024. She was born June 11, 1936 in Surry County to the late George Beverly Goad and Dora Sutphin Goad. Goldie was a loving, caring and gracious lady, she enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Taylor, Sr.; sisters, Virgie Pardue, Evelyn Haley, Ruby Jackson; brothers, Willie Goad, Ralph Goad, Raymond Goad, June Goad, James Goad, Glenn Goad; half-sister, Maude Shelton. She is survived by her husband, Earlie Franklin Vogler; children, Olen (Barbie) McKinney, Merlette McKinney Taylor; grandson, Aaron McKinney; step children, Keith (Jill) Vogler, Kalan Jordan; step granddaughter, Tayian Vogler; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, August, 17, 2024 at New Testament Baptist Church by the Rev. Fred Barton. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00PM on Saturday at New Testament Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the caregiver, Donna Clark, Medi Home Health and Hospice, and Forsyth Medical Center for all the love and care shown to Goldie.
