Grace Elaine Lassiter Barnes

Grace Elaine Lassiter Barnes, 64, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025. She was born on August 14, 1960, to the late James Oscar Lassiter and Alma Ruth Burkhart Lassiter. Elaine dedicated 12 years of service to Yadkin County as the Board of Elections Director. She found joy in crafting, spending time outside in the spring and summer, and attending local antique car shows. She also had a passion for learning shag dancing. She was a devoted member of Swan Creek Baptist Church and cherished her faith and church community. She was preceded in death by her parents James Oscar Lassiter, Alma Ruth Burkhart Lassiter, and her brother, Alan Dale Lassiter. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kari Michaela Barnes; her brothers, James Leon Lassiter, Donald Ray (Sara) Lassiter Sr., and Garry Lee Lassiter; and her sister-in-law, Bonnie Bowen Lassiter. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at Swan Creek Baptist Church. A celebration of life for Elaine will follow at 5:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Scott Bishop, with burial in the church cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Swan Creek Baptist Church 2501 Swan Creek Rd. Jonesville, NC 28642.
