Grady Franklin Chatman Jr.

Mr. Grady Franklin Chatman, Jr, 84, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025. He was born April 22, 1940 in Forsyth County to the late Grady Franklin Chatman, Sr., and Bertha Pruitt Chatman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Marie Simmons Chatman. Mr. Chatman was a strong supporter of the Boy Scouts. He loved nature, and loved spending all the time he could being in the great outdoors. He is survived by his son Grady “Lin” Franklin Chatman III (Becky Midkiff); his daughter Tina (Adrian) Stevenson; grandchildren Tim Jarvis, Daniel Jarvis, Sarah Romano, Nicholas Romano, Matthew Romano; four great grandchildren; his sister, Chris (Ken) Berrier; and his aunt, Bobbie Tucker. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Monday, January 27, 2025 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral will follow the visitation in the Gentry Family Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Stephen Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Yadkinville. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Trellis Hospice Home for the loving care given to Grady and his family.
