Guy Edward Nichols

JonesvilleMr. Guy Edward Nichols, 80, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at his home. Mr. Nichols was born March 8, 1937 in Mecklenburg County to Theodore and Leomie Dyson Nichols. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and retired from Vulcan Material after many years of service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nichols was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene “Eupe” Shaw Nichols; and three brothers, Gilbert, Junior, and Billy Nichols. He is survived a step daughter, Donna Bryant; three sisters, Frances Chatham, Betty Noblitt, and Margaret Carbonara; and a brother-in-law, Allen H. Wagoner. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Swaims Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Shelton and Larry Luffman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346.
