Mr. GW Goins Jr., 49, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021. He was born October 10, 1972 to the late GW Goins Sr. and Doris Marie Abbott Goins. He enjoyed listening to music, hanging out at the river, hiking and camping with his family, and taking long drives. 

Our beloved Jr. Goins was a husband, father, brother, uncle, and a good friend to those that knew him. Jr's family is devastated that he was called home so suddenly but they are thankful as they know he is rejoicing with the Lord and the shackles of any earthly conflict have been released and he is at peace.

If you knew Jr. then you knew just what a hardworking and selfless person he was. His sister recalled with great fondness a time when Jr. had come over to help her power wash her home and he was out there scrubbing by hand as well since his sister was trying to take care of these duties alone as her husband recovered from a stroke. That is just one very tiny example of the person that he was. He wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty and to just get in there to help because that was just his nature."

Mr. Goins was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Celicia Smith Goins; two children, Daniel McKay Goins and Lauren Marie Goins; sisters, Vickie (Barry) Head, Sharon (Gary) Lane, Bobbie (Tony) Mabe; brothers, Ricky (Joanna) Goins, Joseph Daniel (Yvonne) Goins; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 5:00PM, Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Dr. Will Watson officiating.  Burial will follow at White Oak Grove Church cemetery in Kernersville.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
