Harold Wayne Macemore

October 5, 1964 — November 25, 2017

Yadkinville Harold “Wayne” Macemore, born October 5, 1964, entered the gates of Heaven and into the presence of his precious Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, November 25, 2017. Wayne treasured his wife and family, second only, to his love for Christ. Married for 28 remarkable years to Teena, his high school sweetheart, their extraordinary relationship persevered through many trials and is admired by many. He was most proud of his three sons Austin, Braedon and Colby always striving to be the best father he could by showing love, understanding, patience, and kindness. His Godliness will have a lasting impact, not only on his own sons, but to countless young people to whom he was a role model, mentor, and coach. Wayne loved his church and joyfully served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, Awana leader, and youth volunteer at Union Grove Baptist Church. An avid Duke basketball fan, he also enjoyed baseball and golf. Working in sales at Boise Cascade for 13 years was a blessing and allowed him to share his testimony daily. His infectious personality and his love for Jesus was a bright light to the many valued customers he contacted. Wayne’s ever-present uplifting attitude, silly fun-loving personality always brought out the best in everyone. He never met a stranger and truly loved everyone. This was evident by the positive and upbeat message he left on his voicemail reminding us all to “Have a Blessed Day” and to “Remember Philippians 4:13”. Above all, Wayne was fearless and bold in sharing the gospel so that all would be saved through Jesus Christ. Left to carry on his passionate message are his beautiful, devoted soulmate, Teena Collins Macemore; his easy going, hardworking and compassionate son, Braedon Hart Macemore; his fiery, strong willed and witty son, Colby Ridge Macemore; his much adored and prayer-warrior Mother, Wanda Macemore; his ever faithful and constant encourager sister, Lynn Blackburn (husband Michael); Mother-in-law, Josephine Collins Goins; sister-in-law Twinkle Collins Ireland (husband Roger); brother-in-law, Tim Collins (wife Wendy) along with many special nieces and nephews. Today, he is rejoicing in heaven with his son, “Big A” Austin Macemore; Father, Harold L. Macemore; Father-in-Law, James William Collins Jr. and Step-Father-in-Law, Fred Goins. A service to celebrate the life of Wayne will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Gooden, Rev. Nick Poindexter, Rev. Brent Winslow, and Rev. Sterling Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday evening at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
