Simpson Yadkinville- Mr. Harry Franklin Simpson, 68, of Yadkinville, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018. He was born in Surry County on December 16, 1949 to Sam Wesley and Lula Emily Wood Simpson. He lived a full life and was well known in the community. His trademark was his camo outfit and his red beard. He was kind and giving. He was an avid outdoorsman. He love to hunt, fish, and ride his four wheeler. His memory will live on the hearts of his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Eric Simpson, and three brothers, Raymond William Simpson, Wayne Simpson, and Troy Simpson. Surviving are a daughter, Vanessa Simpson (Charles) Brown, three sisters, Mary Ruth Kimmer, Jo Ann Brooks, and Deborah Whitt, a brother, Homer Lee Simpson, three grandchildren, Valyn Brown, Grady Brown, and LulaDove Brown, a special friend, Shirley Whitaker, and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018, 1:00PM at Gentry Funeral Chapel with Pastor Eric Morrison officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Gentry Funeral Home from 6:00 -8:00 PM. Burial will follow on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 9:00 AM at Salisbury National Cemetery with military honors by the Davidson County Honor Guard and the NC National Guard Honor Guard.
