Hazel Blevins Poplin

Jonesville Mrs. Hazel Blevins Poplin, 95, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Tuesday, September 4, 2018.   She was born October 6, 1922 in Davidson County to Rufus and Lily Hemric Blevins.  Hazel was a member of Union Baptist Church and later, Fall Creek Baptist Church.  She and Clyde ran Poplins Used Cars of Hwy 67 for 15 years.  Hazel was a loving wife of 52 years to the late Clyde T. Poplin.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ola Turner, Kathleen Hudspeth, and Gladys Caudle.   She is survived by two children, Donald (Linda) Poplin and Mary (Tommy) Chappell; five grandchildren, Donnie Poplin, Lisa (Joey) Barnett, Beth Darnell, Wendee Chappell, and Angie (Travis) Spicer; six great grandchildren, Eric Murdaugh, Brittany (Bruce) Long, Andrew, Sarah, & Samuel Darnell, and Madison Spicer; and three great-great grandchildren, Michael, Lexie, and Caleb Long. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00PM, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Fall Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Don Hudson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fall Creek Baptist Church, 3345 Fall Creek Church Road, Jonesville, NC 28642.
