Hedy Moser Hobson

Mrs. Hedy Lou Moser Hobson, 93, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023. She was born December 15, 1929 in Surry County to the late William Clay Moser and Thannie Coe Moser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ray Hobson; a son, Carson Hobson; her siblings, Ray (Ruby) Moser, Evon (Earl) Ring, WC (Barbara) Moser, Ruth (Sam) Prim, Betty (Bill) Elder. Mrs. Hobson enjoyed cooking, quilting, crocheting, and working sudoku puzzles. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Jan Shotwell, Nicky Hobson; daughter-in-law, Vaun Hobson; grandchildren, Tara Hobson, Andy Hobson (Audrey Griffin), Wendy Ashworth, Lee Ashworth; seven great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Murko, Louise (John) Thompson. The family will receive friends, Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Richmond Hill Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Luke Money and Chaplin Mark Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice for the loving care given to Hedy and her family. They would also like to thank her longtime Doctor, Dr. Tabitha Counsart for the great care over the years and Hair Stylist April Crook for always spending that extra time with Hedy during her hair appointments.
