Helen Hutchens Dinkins

Yadkinville Mrs. Helen Marie Hutchens Dinkins, 87, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 at her home. Mrs. Dinkins was born October 7, 1932 in Yadkin County to Charles and Vicie Myers Hutchens. She was a member of Turners Creek Baptist Church. Her love language was giving gifts which most of the time meant a dessert. Folks loved receiving one of her coconut cakes for their birthday. She loved seeing the joyful look on their faces. Helen also loved kids. During her lifetime, she made hundreds of cupcakes for the kids at Turners Creek Kids Bible Camp. She also made a lot of pound cakes and layer cakes for the staff. Helen loved to make all the kids she knew feel special. She would mail them birthday cards, Valentine cards, Easter cards, and more. Through the years, the family has heard people say how much they enjoyed getting her cards when they were kids. Helen loved the Lord and she loved her husband. She would read her bible and they both taught their children how important Christ was. This is not goodbye, but until we meet again…. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Andrew Hutchens, Paul Hutchens, Adeline Hutchens Dobbins, Charles Luther Hutchens, Roy Harding Hutchens, LuCinda Hutchens Hauser, Delma Ray Hutchens, Treva Lois “Mary” Hutchens, Margret Lovette Hutchens, and Shirley Gray Hutchens. She is survived by her two children, Randy Dale (Rose) Dinkins and Robin (Greg) Quinn; grandchildren, Zoe Marie (Lee) Cline, Sarah Elizabeth Dinkins, Meredith (Cody) Styers, and Charity Quinn; and great grandchildren, Eliana, Ethan and Eden Cline and Wyatt and Jackson Styers. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Turners Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Welch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Turners Creek Baptist Church, 3216 Courtney Huntsville Rd Yadkinville, NC 27055.
