Herman Gray Allgood

Mr. Herman Gray Allgood, 87, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  Mr. Allgood was born September 5, 1933 in Yadkin County to William J. Allgood, Sr. and Myrtle “Geneva” Flynn Allgood.  He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served during the Korean War as a Corpsman. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Allgood was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Poppy Rose Wills; a brother, Bill Allgood; and three sisters, Ruth Brown, Dorothy Brown, and Edith Jones.  He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frances Billings Allgood; three sons, Stanley Allgood & fiancée, Pamela, Craig Allgood & wife Marcia, and Chris Allgood & wife Sherry; grandchildren, Sarah Wills & husband Sean, Ben Allgood, Austin Allgood & wife Sabrina, Gray, Seth, Marisa, & Nicole Allgood; great grandchildren, Lily & David Wills and Shaylee & Keirstyn Stephenson; and two sisters, June Fulton and Joan Jones.

A private service will be held for Mr. Allgood with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and US Navy Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
