Hilda Gilley

Hilda Gay Wagoner Gilley, 77, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018. She was born August 2, 1941 in Yadkin County to the late Richard and Augusta Daye Wagoner. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Larry Ray Gilley. Mrs. Gilley was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church where she was very active in the nursey, and Sunday school programs. She was also a meal organizer, and oversaw the fellowship hall activities as long as her health allowed. Hilda was known for her love of cleaning, cooking, baking, canning, gardening abilities and she especially had a great love for children. Mrs. Gilley is survived by her daughters Tammy Hall (Steve), Deana Wilkins (Eric); grandchildren Kristen Hall Mead (Bobby), Andy Wilkins, Daniel Wilkins; sister Linda Ashburn; and close family friends Mike, Mai, Carolyn, and Carson Quach. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL, 60601.
