Hilda Teague Whitaker

Boonville Mrs. Hilda Gaye Teague Whitaker, 85, passed away Wednesday, April 08, 2020 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mrs. Whitaker was born July 29, 1934 in Yadkin County to Owen Teague and Aralee Vestal. She was a member of Center UMC. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whitaker was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Omer” Whitaker; and a son, Gary Whitaker. She is survived by her son, Dennis Whitaker and wife Bridget; grandchildren, Shelley (Sam) Harvey, Keara (Robert) Sanders, and Tanner (Daniela) Whitaker; a great grandson, Logan Scott Sanders; daughter-in-law, Susan Whitaker; and special friends, Nellie & Sherrill Peele. Due to governmental restrictions, a private graveside service will be conducted at Center UMC cemetery. Mrs. Whitaker will be available for public viewing Monday, April 13th from 8:00AM to 1:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center for the loving care given to Mrs. Whitaker.
