Ima Jean Media Mason

Mrs. Ima Jean Media Crouse Mason, age 83, of Yadkinville, NC went home to be with the Lord on January 26, 2022.  She was born on March 12, 1938 in Wilkes County to the late Mitchel and Annie Lyons Crouse. She was also preceded in death by her children, Edward (Martha) Mason, Larry Ray Mason; sisters, Virginia (Devo) Pruitt, Alma (Grady) Baker, Pansy Thomas, Claire Kilby; brothers, Charlie (Edith) Crouse, Kenneth Crouse, Aldean Crouse, and Larry Crouse; sister-in -law, Dorothy Crouse. 

Ima Jean was a CNA and enjoyed taking care of others.  She loved to write poems and wrote and gave the poem “A Soldier in a Fox Hole” to the VA.  She also loved listening to old hymns.  Ima Jean is survived by her sisters, Iva Dean Dobbins, Mary Ann Colbert; brother, Henry Crouse; sisters-in-law, Mae Billings Crouse, Beth Swaim Crouse; brother-in-law, Jerry Kilby; grandchildren, Annie Mason, Aleshia Mason; great grandchildren, Michael Mason, Angel Rose.

The memorial service will be in the Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 1 PM, officiated by Rev. Greg Simmons. The family would like to thank Chatham Nursing and the Staff for their wonderful care.  Also, a special thank you to Ima Jean’s best friend, Judy Williams for all of her love and support over the years.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Chatham Nursing & Rehabilitation at 700 Johnson Ridge Rd, Elkin, NC 28621.  Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
