Ina Mae Steelman Sheek

Yadkinville Mrs. Ina Mae Steelman Sheek, 77, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at SECU Hospice Home. Mrs. Sheek was born April 26, 1940 in Yadkin County to Arnold and Alma Dobbins Steelman. She was a member of Deep Creek Friends Meeting, where she served as recording clerk for several years. She was also very active in her Sunday school class. Mrs. Sheek retired from RJ Reynolds and volunteered at Yadkin Christian Ministries for many years. She enjoyed attending reunions with her RJR co-workers and Yadkinville High School Class of 1958, as well as traveling. Mrs. Sheek loved to send out birthday cards to family, friends, and church family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sheek was preceded in death by two brothers, H. Frank (Susan) Steelman and Roy (Helen) Steelman; and a brother-in-law, Roy Coe; a nephew, Ricky Steelman. She is survived by a sister, Dorothy “Dot” Coe; two nieces, Janet (Leon) Robbins and Gail Mock; three nephews, Danny (Loris) Coe, Terry (Sonja) Steelman, and Don (Pam) Steelman; a niece-in-law, Sharon Steelman; several great nieces and nephews whom she cherished; and many dear friends who were like family. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30AM, Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Deep Creek Friends with Pastor Randy Quate and Brother Lawrence Warden officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SECU Hospice Home of Yadkin 320 W. Maple St. Yadkinville, NC 27055.
