Jack Junior Collins

Boonville Mr. Jack J. Collins, 79, passed peacefully surrounded by his grandchildren Monday, February 27, 2023 at Woltz Hospice Home. Jack was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Mary Jane. He was born October 26, 1943 in Surry County to Meggs and Alma Smith Collins. Jack was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, trips to the beach, working in his yard, and helping neighbors and anyone else who needed it. He was a wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather who loved to be around his family. Jack was always there to help when needed. He also enjoyed going out to eat with his brothers and sisters any chance they could. In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Hardy Collins; a daughter, Terry Ford; a great granddaughter, Heidi Mae Hardy; sisters, Elsie, Mae and Dean; and brothers, Carl, John, Calvin, George, Henry, Robert, and Floyd. He is survived by his grandchildren, Loretta (Scott) Guden, Chris (Terri) Hardy, Bradley (Melissa) Hardy, and Amanda (Luke) Brown; great grandchildren, Jakob, Emerie, Gracie, Israel, & Lauryn Faith Guden, Bethanie & Jemma Hardy, and Abby & Laura Jane Hardy; sisters, Betty Sizemore and Leathy Ferguson; brothers, James (Clara) Collins and Davie Lee “Butch” Collins; and special friends and neighbors, Dan Roth, Mark Fleshman, and Gary Meeks. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Friendship Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Poindexter and Pastor Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice PO Box 1267 Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice, Dr. Haulsee, and staff of Forsyth Medical Center for the loving care given to Mr. Collins. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Collins family.
