Jack O. Souther

Hamptonville-  Jack Souther, 83 went to his eternal home on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Jack was born on January 14, 1938 to the late Harrison & Zetta Wooten Souther.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ann Irvin Souther.

Jack enjoyed farming and especially raising beef cattle.  He worked several years at Hibco Plastics in Yadkinville.  Jack enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hike. He really enjoyed hiking at Stone Mountain with his family and friends.  After retirement he was a host/greeter at the Hutchinson Cabin in Stone Mountain State Park.  He was a member of Union Baptist Church in Hamptonville and loved his church family.   

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Bob (Lori) Souther and Jackie Souther.

The family is eternally grateful for the loving care given to Jack from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.   In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to Friends of Stone Mountain State Park, PO Box 184, Roaring Gap, NC 28668 or to Union Baptist Church, 760 Union Baptist Church Road, Hamptonville, NC 27020.

Jack will be available for public viewing on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 11 AM – 5 PM and on Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 8:00 AM – 5 PM.  The graveside service will be at 2 PM on Sunday, February 28, 2021, at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Rev.
