Jackie David Williams

Mr. Jackie David Williams, age 91, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025. He was the devoted son of Paul Williams and Sylvania Smitherman Williams. A resident of East Bend, North Carolina, Jackie enjoyed farming and he loved his family. He retired from RJ Reynolds after 30 years of service. Jackie was proud to serve his country for 2 years as a Military Police Officer at Leavenworth, Kansas. He was happily married to Betsy Choplin Williams for 32 years. He is survived by his wife Betsy; his step-son, Grant (Nikki) Hampton; step-daughter, Lisa Hampton; grandchildren, Scott (Jackie) Williams, Evan (Emily) Williams; step-granddaughter, Shay Hampton; great grandsons, Austin J. Sebastian (Nate Larose), and Jaxson Williams; daughter-in-law, Tina B. Williams (Greg Brown). Jackie was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Wright and beloved son, Ken Williams. The family would like to thank all doctors, nurses, and caregivers that loved and cared over Jackie. Special thanks to Margie Childress who made it possible for Jackie to remain comfortable at home. 

A Funeral Service for Jackie will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel of East Bend. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in East Bend. Burial will follow at East Bend Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flowers and memorials are accepted. Memorials may be made in Jackie’s honor to Mountain Valley Hospice, SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin at 243 N Lee Ave, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
