Jacquelyn Bernice Williams Maxey, 79, passed away Friday, January 24, 2020. She was born April 15, 1940 in Harris County, Texas to the late John William Williams and Violet Stacey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband “Buck” Maxey; daughter Toni Maxey; brother Gene Williams. Mrs. Maxey was a member of Liberty Chapel Methodist Church in Louisiana. Jacquelyn loved spending time with her cats, working with her plants, and being outside working in the yard. She is survived by her son Glenn Maxey (Lisa); grandchildren Brandon Maxey (Nikki), Stephanie Pitts (Corey), Hannah Maxey, Ashley Atkins (Tyles), Jake Blodinger (Emily), Amanda Simpson (Ben); great-grandchildren Kailey Atkins, Jackson Pitts, Calvin Maxey, and one on the way; sister Gerry McCoy (Seth); brother John Williams (Marge); Chris Hines (Mike) mother of Brandon, Stephanie, and Hannah. A family gathering will be conducted on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service, with a graveside service to be held in the Spring in Grant Parrish, Dry Prong, Louisiana. The family would like to thank the staff of Bermuda Commons for the loving care shown to Jacquelyn and her family. The family would also like to thank Yadkinville Fire Department for the many times they helped Mrs. Maxey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
