James "Ed" Edward Brown

“Ed” James Edward Brown, age 85, passed away July 31, 2022. He was born August 19, 1936 in Yadkin County to the late Sant and Kate Bray Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters. Ed enjoyed fishing, rabbit hunting, watching the Atlanta Braves, and he loved listening to his grandbabies singing. He was a member of Northwood Baptist Church. Mr. Brown is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jerry Reynolds Brown; his sons, Eddie (Allison) Brown, Tommy (Tammy) Brown, Marty (Martha) Brown; granddaughters, Dinah (Ethan) Royal, Alisha Brown, Becky (Alex) Flynt, Mylia (Big John) Pittman, Hannah Brown; great-grandchildren, Madyson Pittman, Noah Pittman, Marlee Pittman, Makayla Royal, Madylynn Royal, Matthew Flynt. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 9:45 AM until 10:45 AM at Gentry Family Funeral Service. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM in the Gentry Family Chapel with Brother John Pittman, and Rev. Ronnie Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in the Northwood Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Hugh Chatham Hospital, Outpatient Surgery unit and Dr. Carbone, and Dr. Al for the loving care shown to Ed.
