James LeRoy Henderson

Hamptonville- James LeRoy Henderson 79, died Saturday April 2, 2022 at home. He was born in Yadkin County on June 20, 1942; son of the late Raymond Clinton and Grace Leigh Johnson Henderson. He and his wife were members of New Hope Baptist Church. LeRoy worked for Southern Screws for 29 years, retired from driving a truck for Gaither Trucking and NCDOT. He loved God, he was a great husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter; Lisa Kay Henderson, granddaughter; Meagan Gregory and a great grandson; Aidan Crawford. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Virginia Henderson, two children; James David Henderson (Donna) and Loretta Gregory (Tracy), three grandchildren; Amber Dawn Henderson, James Keith Henderson and Nathan Lee Gregory, three great grandchildren; Mackayla, Alyssa and Ava and a brother; Albert Henderson. A visitation will be held Monday April 4, 2022 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm and a funeral to follow at 2:00pm at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen Belcher, Rev. Dennis Shaw and Rev. Bert Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
