James "Jim" Hartley Blankley, Jr.

James “Jim” Hartley Blankley, Jr., 70, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the SECU Mountain Valley Hospice House in Yadkinville.

Jim was born January 20, 1953 in Biloxi, Mississippi to the late James Hartley Blankley, Sr. and Ann Goins Blankley who were both in the military.

Throughout his lifetime Jim worked at several different places with the last ones being Tri County Pontiac Buick in Jonesville, and Evans Heating and Cooling in State Road.

Jim was an active member of Union Baptist Church in Hamptonville, where he held various positions throughout the years.

Jim loved his family, and his greatest joy was spending time with them. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 30 years, Glenda Sale Blankley; three sons, Keith (Stephanie) Blankley of Ronda, Jeremi (Jamie) Blankley of Rocky Point, and Dana (Rebekah) Blankley of Hamptonville; grandchildren, Dylan and Morgan Blankley of Ronda, Jordan, Jillian, and Eli Blankley of Rocky Point, and Lillian Blankley of Hamptonville; a brother, Frank (Debbie) Blankley of Largo, Florida; three sisters, Dorothea Key of Elkin, Glenda (Scott) Chriscoe of Elkin, and Gerri (Bobby) Collins of Florida; stepmother, Earlene Blankley of Kenneth City, Florida; brother-in-law, Gary Rogers of Hamptonville; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Union Baptist Church in Hamptonville. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 pm prior to the service at the church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Kenny Pardue, Rev. Keith Blankley, Rev. Dana Blankley, and Rev. Chris Snow. Burial will be in Union Baptist Church Cemetery following the funeral service.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Ashton Molai and his staff, Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Health Wilkesboro Emergency and ICU, Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Health Winston-Salem 8th Floor Surgical ICU, and SECU Mountain Valley Hospice in Yadkinville for the excellent care Jim received.
