James "Jim" Leonard Boles

James (Jim) Leonard Boles, affectionately known as “Papa” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many others; passed away the morning of January 5, 2021 to be with his Lord and Savior. Jim was born on October 17th, 1934 to the late Hubert & Elizabeth Boles. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Nicks Boles, and siblings, Shirley Simpson, Barbara Culler, Bob Boles, Patty Spillman, and Cloyce Wallace. Jim was an extremely hardworking provider for his family, his entire life. Many will remember his work driving a truck delivering groceries for the Wholesale House, and others will remember him as a “chicken farmer” as he tended to his poultry houses for 35 plus years. Papa was a kind and giving man who would do anything within his power and means for his neighbors and strangers alike. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in any spare time; which wasn’t much. He will be loved and remembered by many. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Sherri Combs, Mark Boles (Katherine); grandchildren, Sheryl Ann Morris (Chrystian), Matthew Boles, Emma Boles, Jordan Blevins (Sara); great-grandchildren, Kaleb Morris and Summer Blevins; brothers Bill & Donnie Boles and sister Mary Norman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends whom were dear to his heart. The family is eternally grateful for the care and comfort he received from Mountain Valley Hospice and Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home during his final days of life.
