James "Jimmy" Carroll Miller, Jr.

Mr. James “Jimmy” Carroll Miller, Jr., 75, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. He was born on September 22, 1949 to James Carroll Miller, Sr. and Dorothy Melton Miller. Mr. Miller was a longtime employee at Unifi and he later retired from LP Building Solutions in Roaring River. He enjoyed being in nature. Mr. Miller loved to bowl and participated in the bowling league at the bowling alley in Jonesville for many years. Most importantly, he loved his family more than anything. He will be missed by everyone who had the special privilege to know him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Rogers Miller; a daughter, Melanie Dawn Miller; a sister, Linda Morris; and grandparents, James and Mattie Spencer Miller, and Daniel and Eliza Melton. He is survived by a daughter, Jessica Miller; a grandson, Winston Blanton; a sister, Rebecca Vanhoy; nephews, Cole Baron and Kelly Baron; niece, Karen Dobbins; mother of his children, Pam Miller; and numerous cousins. 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 1524 Nebo Road, Boonville, NC 27011. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County by calling the Philanthropy Office at (704) 873-4719 to make donations. The family would like to express a special thank you to S. Mitchell Mack Hospice Home for the loving and compassionate care given to Mr. Miller and his family during this difficult time.
