James Harrison Shore

Boonville Mr. James Harrison Shore, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Shore was born November 5, 1935 in Yadkin County to the late Varnie and Beatrice Felts Shore. He retired from farming after many years of growing tobacco, grain, and cattle. He also retired from Unifi after many years of service. Mr. Shore loved gardening, farming, fishing, hunting, and his church family. Mr. Shore is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dottie Lashmit Shore; one daughter, Darlene (Richard) Bedsaul; one son, Faron Shore; one grandson, Jesse Couch; a special little girl, Kaylee Mullins; one sister, Mary Lou Brown; two brothers, Billy (Bonnie) Shore and Bobby (Frances) Shore; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and special friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Longtown United Methodist Church with Rev. Tilton Bridges, Rev. Harold Salmons, and Rev. Bob Swaim officiating. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Longtown Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00PM Saturday evening at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road Dobson, NC 27017 in memory of James Shore.
