James Grady Summerlin, Sr.

East Bend Mr. James Grady Summerlin, Sr., 75, passed away Friday, July 17, 2020 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mr. Summerlin was born March 29, 1945 in Wilkes County to Grady and Nora Griffin Summerlin. He enjoyed trucking and made his career doing what he loved. Mr. Summerlin was a veteran of the US Navy. Mr. Summerlin is survived by three children, James Grady Summerlin Jr. and wife Melanie, Kenneth Allen Summerlin and wife Janice, and Talmadge Anthony Summerlin; grandson, James William Summerlin; two sisters, Carmelia Perry and Channey Mae Johnson; and four brother, Jesse Summerlin, George Perry, Wade Perry, and Sam Perry. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center for the loving care given to Mr. Summerlin. Gentry Family Funeral Service in East Bend is serving the Summerlin family.
