James Wayde Swaim

James Wayde Swaim, 91, passed away Friday June 24, 2022. He was born April 20, 1931 in Wilkes County to the late Glenn Swaim and Elizabeth Myers Swaim. Mr. Swaim enjoyed playing the piano and he played for several churches. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Anna lee Jarvis; two brothers Paul Swaim and Hugh Swaim. Surviving are his wife of 38 years Pansy Brown Swaim; children Gregg (Debbie) Swaim, Beverly (Rocky) Hendrix; step daughters Jan (Steve) Thurkill, Hope (Don) Phillips; grandchildren Heather Taylor, Ryan Swaim, Patrick Swaim, Neal (Kim) Welborn; step grandchildren Allison Thurkill, Benjamin Thurkill, Joshua (Nena) Phillips, Jana (Nathaniel0 Dunivent, Kellie (Ben) Sims, Kindell (Scott) Whitley; great grandchildren Maddie Taylor; step great grandchildren Maxwell Falge, and Dylan Phillips. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Wednesday June 29, 2022 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. His funeral will be conducted at 3:00 PM following the visitation at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Dennis Murphy. Burial will follow at Swan Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to say a special thanks to Janice Gentry and Roy Anderson for the help and loving care they gave to Mr. Swaim.
