Jan Marie Somers

Hamptonville – Jan Marie Somers, 61, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023.  She was born January 29, 1962 in Surry County to the late Grady Lee Somers and Kathleen Shore Somers.  Jan was a member at Union Baptist Church in Hamptonville.  She enjoyed doing puzzles, and also the children that she kept was a big joy in her life.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Mike Somers.  Surviving are her brothers, Lynn (Cynthia) Somers, Kent (Hazel) Somers; nieces and nephews, Chris (Jennifer) Somers, Adam (Tresa) Somers, Amy (Donald) Blizard, Todd Somers, Heather (Michael) Tilley, Amber (Jason) Brown, Austin (Kaitlyn) Somers, Tanner Somers; 13 great nieces and nephews.  Her funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Union Baptist Church in Hamptonville by the Rev. Kenny Pardue, and the Rev. Chris Snow.  Burial will follow in church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Tuesday at Union Baptist Church in Hamptonville.  Memorials can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 243 N.
