Mrs. Jane Brannon Little Mahaley, 88, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022. Jane was born February 13, 1934 in Mecklenburg County to Benjamin and Beatrice Price Little. She worked as a medical technician at Duke and Chapel Hill. Jane was a geologist and loved exploring nature, and volunteered with the park service with the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. She enjoyed weaving, knitting, cooking, and hiking. She was never afraid to try something new, and was an exemplary lifelong learner.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Moses Stephen Mahaley Jr. and a brother, Don Little. She is survived by five children, Rhett (Cindy) Mahaley, Steve (Allison) Mahaley, Becky (Ted) Clark, David (Lori) Mahaley, and Lee Mahaley; grandchildren, Ben (Melissa) Mahaley, Chris Mahaley, Casie Mahaley, Aaron Mahaley, Jack Mahaley, Ryan (Kim) Clark, Alan (Paige) Clark, Brad Clark, Josh Clark, Katy (Tommy Holland) Mahaley, Levi Mahaley, Brannon Mahaley, Emory Mahaley, and Camdyn Mahaley; and great grandchildren, Easton, Ryder, Lyla, Zoey, Kira, Brooklyn, Eloise, and Owen.
Jane was blessed to have the loving and faithful care from Kirsten Reed for 8 years, for which the family is very grateful.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM, Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Arbor Acres, Robinson Hall with Rev. Chris Hauser officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in Robinson Hall. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 2:00PM at Forest Lawn West in Charlotte.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Arbor Acres for the loving care given to Jane.
