Janet Wood Longworth

Dobson – Janet Elizabeth Wood Longworth, 77, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 2, 2020 after she fought a good fight. She retired from West Point Stevens after several years of service. Everyone who knew her said she was the sweetest, most loving person they ever met. Janet enjoyed bluegrass and ole timey music. She will always be remembered for her delicious food and baked goods. The love of her life was her kids and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was born August 15, 1942 in Yadkin County to the late Archie Cletus Wood and Mayme Stanley Wood. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Bob Wood. Surviving are her children, Lori (Jeff) Fowler, Larry (Mandy) Longworth, Jr., Faith Longworth, Tina Longworth, Richard Longworth, Christopher (Sonya) Longworth, Shaun (Lindsey) Brendle; grandchildren, Kathryn (Jacob) Poindexter, Lathan (Emily) Longworth, Lindsey (Billy) Durham, Alexis Longworth, Devin (Stephanie) Longworth, Ryan (Kenzie) Harris, Elizabeth Sprinkle, David Longworth; great grandchildren, Georgia, Dylan, Emma, Autumn, Mollie, Max, Skylar, Emma, Porsche, Aisley, Grayson, C.J., Dylon, Damien, Lily; father of the children, Larry Wayne Longworth, Sr.; sister, Carol (Don) Spry; brothers, Donald “Punk” Wood, Dennis (Judy) Wood. Due to government restrictions, a private graveside service will be held at Fairview Baptist Church.
