Janice Smitherman Baity

East Bend – Janice Smitherman Baity, 74, passed away at home with her loving and devoted husband by her side on Monday, July 4, 2022. She was born January 23, 1948, to the late Bryce Smitherman Sr. and Mollie Baity Smitherman. Surviving is her husband, Stephen “Steve” Gray Baity; daughter, Rhonda (Lee) Finney; grandchildren, Salem Finney, Arden Finney, Tatum Finney; brothers, Bryce (Deanna) Smitherman Jr., James (Karen) Smitherman, Charles (Denise) Smitherman; brother-in-law Tommy (Brenda) Baity; and several nieces and nephews. Janice was married to her high school sweetheart for 54 years. She worked as a cost accountant for Sara Lee for 38 years. After retiring she would go on to enjoy her most cherished job of all which was babysitting her 3 granddaughters. Some of Janice’s favorite past times were watching her grandchildren's ball games and family vacations to the beach. Her graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Shady Grove United Methodist Church by the Rev. Eddie Tyson. Memorials can be made to SECU Hospice Center, 243 N.
