Jean Davis Vogels

Hamptonville Mrs. Jean Davis Vogels, 76, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Vogels was born July 29, 1941 in New Hanover County to the late JC and Elsie Royal Davis. She was a member of Marler Road Baptist Church. Jean loved to mow and do yardwork, but her pride and joy were her grandchildren. Mrs. Vogels is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Benjamin William Vogels; two children, Jeff (Cynthia) Vogels and Lisa (Tony) Evans; two grandchildren, Brittney (Ryan) Doss and Madison Durham; a great granddaughter, Kali Dezern; great granddog, Emmitt and great grandcat, Ju-Ju-Bean; a sister-in-law, Mary Landon; and a brother-in-law, John (Jane) Vogels. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00AM, Monday, January 8, 2018 at Marler Road Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00AM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marler Road Baptist Church, 4433 Collins Rd, Hamptonville, NC 27020. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Forsyth Medical Center for the loving care given to Mrs. Vogels.
