Mr. Jerry Thomas Melton, 79, passed away on May 1, 2023 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mr. Melton was born June 21, 1943 in Forsyth County to Andrew and Martha Rupard Melton.  He was a member of Turners Creek Baptist Church and worked as a builder for many years. Jerry was a hard-working man of many talents. His best trait was his big heart and caring spirit. He loved spending time with family and spoiling his grandkids.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Melton was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Ruth Jones.  He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Annie Harrison Melton; children, Jeremy (Sandra) Melton, Tamla (Tim) Caudill, and Darian (Bobbi) Hester; grandchildren, Austin (Chelsea) Barker, Jessica (Jarrett) Mullins, Chase Melton (Emily Marcincavage), Mason Hester, Cole Hester, Haidyn Hester, Tyler (Ashley) Sutton, Maegan (Joey) Larimer, and Melody Hester; and great grandchildren, Zeke, Connor, Hadleigh, Thomas, Bailey, and Preston.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Turners Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Welch and Allen Barker officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Turners Creek Baptist Church, 3216 Courtney Huntsville Road Yadkinville, NC 27055. As well as Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
