East Bend - Jerry G. Renegar, 84, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born June 17, 1939 in Yadkin County to the late Howard and Pearl Renegar. Jerry retired from D.D. Bean and Sons in Winston-Salem. He was a member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church. He was a well-known dirt track racer from 1978 to 1994. He also loved watching Nascar.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Grady Renegar and sisters, Marie Brannon and Linda Mickles. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Shelby Caudle Renegar; daughter, Terry (Jeff) Matthews; grandsons, Ryan (Megan) Matthews, Jayme (Amanda) Matthews; great-grandchildren, Addie Mae Matthews and Waylon James Matthews; brothers-in-law, Tom (Ann) Caudle and Denny Mickles; sisters-in-law, Tina (Pete) Barber and Betty Hamm; and many nieces and nephews. Also, his “best canine buddy” Buster.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm following the visitation with Pastor Kenny Gooden and Pastor Luke Money officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond Hill Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the fourth floor ICU unit for the care and support given.
