Sapp East Bend – Jerry Darnell Sapp, Sr., 78, passed away September 18, 2018. He was born November 10, 1939 in Forsyth County to the late Roscoe and Irene Canada Sapp. Jerry was a member of Enon Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, sunday school teacher, he was in the Enon Brotherhood, and he drove a bus for the Jolly friends. He served in the U.S. Army and the 101st Airborne Division. He enjoyed flying airplanes, racing motorcycles and cars. He also went on mission trips and disaster relief trips. Jerry also delivered meals on wheels and always enjoyed helping others. He retired from Duke Power after many years of service. Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Anna Nall Sapp; children, Lisa (Mike) Wall, Jerry Sapp, Jr., Wayne (Billy) Sapp; grandchildren, Mike (Tiffany) Wall, Jr., Jay (Lori) Wall, Chance Sapp, Jessica (Kirk) Ridings, Amber (Matt) Sprinkle, Lucia Sapp; great grandchildren, Campbell Wall, Fischer Wall, Dalila Wall, Ryan Sapp, Christian Sapp, Makenzie Ridings, Parker Sapp; brother, Jimmy (Linda) Sapp. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Enon Baptist Church by the Rev. Jeff Stephens. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with military honors conducted by the Yadkin V.F.W. Post 10346 and the NC National Guard Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2018 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
