Jerry Lee Speer

Jerry Lee Speer, 74, passed away Friday November 3, 2017. He was born July 22, 1943 in Yadkin County to the late Troy Solomon and Eva Mae Vestal Speer. Jerry retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Troy Neil Speer; brothers Jimmy Speer, Billy Eugene Speer, Troy Michael Speer; great granddaughter Lillian Elizabeth Campbell. Surviving are his wife Margaret Neal Speer; a daughter Pam Sandidge (Jeff Rector); grandchildren David Campbell (Richelle), Brandon Campbell, Brittany Speer, Caleb Speer, Harley Barker; great grandchildren Makayla Campbell, Dixie Campbell, Rilee Campbell, Thea Campbell, Kaden Neil Speer; sisters Barbara Chandler, Kathy (Steve) McCollum; step sister Ann Church; daughter in law Josephine Speer. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Saturday November 11, 2017 at Faith Baptist Church 4840 Old US 421 East Yadkinville, NC 27055. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM following the visitation at the church by Rev. Stephen Evans and Rev. Monroe Otto. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the loving care given to Mr. Speer. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Center.
