Jesse Raynard Wood

Tobaccoville – Jesse Raynard Wood, 85, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025. He was born January 13, 1940 in Wilkes County to the late Dock Wesley Wood and Annie Lee Harris Wood. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Helen Butler; brothers, Bobby Lee Wood, Benny Wood, Bill Wood, and Jack Wood. He is survived by his wife, Willa Mae Carpenter Wood; son, Randy (Michelle) Wood; grandchildren, Krystal (Josh) Butler, Hollie Bennett; great grandchildren, Kyara Butler, Hoyt Butler, Cordyn Butler, Fortlyn Butler, Laekyn Bennett; sister, Edna Boothe; brothers, Jerry Wood, Larry (Opal) Wood, Steve (Starr) Wood; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Friday, January 17, 2025 at Gentry Family Chapel in East Bend by the Rev. Brian Poindexter and Jerry Wood. A private burial will be held after the service.
