Jimmy Joe Brown

Hamptonville Mr. Jimmy Joe Brown, 71, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 at his home. Mr. Brown was born March 9, 1947 in Surry County to John and Froza Wishon Brown. He was a veteran of the US Navy and retired from RJ Reynolds. Mr. Brown enjoyed fishing and racing. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a sister, Pansy Brooks; and three brothers, Tommy, Ronnie, and Danny Brown. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Betty Brown; two sons, Joel Brown and Jason Brown; five grandchildren, Tyler, Laken, Austin, Bryson, and Korbyn; and one sister, Katie Winters. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville. Burial will follow at Mtn. View Baptist Church cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the Navy Funeral Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff and nurses of Mtn.
