Jimmy Allen Pardue, 89, of Mocksville, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025. He was born on September 6, 1935, in Yadkin County to the late W.D. Pardue and Cletia Victoria Nicks Pardue.
Jim was a part of the 1953 graduating class of Jonesville High School where he was an outstanding basketball and baseball player. He was a fan of the Virginia Tech Hokies, Atlanta Braves and Washington Redskins. He continued his love for sports by serving as a high school basketball official for over twenty years. In his teen years, Jim also found great faith in the Lord and carried this faith throughout his life. He enjoyed southern gospel music and The Platters and The Drifters. Jim was also an avid gardener, spending the spring months cultivating his vegetable garden year after year. Along with his love for sports and many other hobbies, Jim was a hard worker. He spent forty-two years with Pepsi Cola where he started as a bottle sorter and moved up to become an Account Executive. He was also a property investor in Yadkin and Surry County and went on to be a maintenance manager for Timberwood Apartments in Jonesville for twenty-two years before retiring at the age of 88.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Hunter Pardue and brother, Donald Pardue.
Those left to cherish Jim’s memory include his wife, Georgia Anne Pardue, son, Chris Pardue, grandson, Seth Pardue (Rachael), great grandson, Greyson Pardue, brother, Howard Pardue (Linda), sister, Sarah Shipe, granddaughter, Chelsea Taylor, great granddaughter, Ellie Taylor, stepson, Mike Hicks (Elaine), nieces, Sheree Roper, Jami Nordenstam, Lori Layton and nephews, Dean Pardue, Kenny Pardue and Mark Pardue.
The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm with Pastor Kenny Pardue, Pastor John Johnson, and Pastor Jerry Fugate officiating. Burial will follow in Boonville Cemetery.
