Jimmy Dale Spillman

Mr. Jimmy Dale Spillman, 79, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023. He was born December 14, 1943 in Yadkin County to the late Thomas Gray Spillman and Stella Vestal Spillman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betty Haynes Spillman; his sister, Helen White. He is survived by his children, Barry (Denise) Spillman, and Kristie (Brian) Poindexter; grandchildren, Trey Spillman, Garrett Poindexter, Gracie Poindexter, Dillan Spillman; great-grandchild, Makaila Spillman; brothers-in law, Satch White, Leonard (Barbara) Haynes Jr., Charles Haynes. Mr. Spillman retired from RJR with more than 35 years of service. Jimmy was a kind hearted, fun loving family man, who was known for his quick wit. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle, and he loved competing in rodeos from bareback bronc riding in his early years to team roping. Jimmy enjoyed his daily fellowship with his lunch pals at Cutter’s and then his supper pals at Liberty Restaurant in Lewisville. The family will receive friends at Gentry Family Funeral Service, Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM. His funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Forbush Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Poindexter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
