Jimmy Wayne Wooten, 80, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022. He was born April 4, 1942 in Yadkin County to the late Luther Raford Wooten and Sarah Baity Wooten. Jimmy enjoyed being outdoors, where he loved fishing, hunting, hunting arrow heads, metal detecting, and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his daughter-in-law, Pamela Wooten; sisters, Lela Westmorland, Irene Hussey, Mildred Mustin, Ruth Settle, Minnie Adams; brothers, Jesse Wooten, Pat Wooten, Howard Wooten, Jay Wooten. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lula Mae Matthews Wooten; children, Lisa Wooten Shakil (Tony Shakil), Chris Wooten; grandchildren, Sara Shakil, Farrah Shakil, Matthew Wooten, Michael Wooten (Sidney), Wyatt (Stephanie) Wooten; great-grandchildren, Oliver Wooten, Dallas Wooten, Hailey Wooten; sister, Dorothy Eldrith (Allen); brother, Phillip Wooten (Joan). The family will receive friends Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in East Bend. A graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, December 9, 2022 at Deep Creek Friends Cemetery with Pastor Mitchell See officiating. The family would like to give their appreciation for the loving care shown to Jimmy by the staff of Forsyth Hospital ER and 9th floor Palliative Care staff. They would also like to thank Pastor Mitchell See for the prayers and visits.
