Joann Pardue Weatherman

STATESVILLE – Mrs. Joann Pardue Weatherman, 86, of Brookview Road passed away peacefully Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Gordon Hospice Home in Statesville. She was born March 3, 1938 I Yadkin County to the late Woodrow and Madge Swaim Pardue. Mrs. Weatherman was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker for her family. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, and gardening for them through the years. Mrs. Weatherman especially enjoyed going fishing at Cherry Grove Beach and Pier, and her passion was taking care of her beloved son, Steve who had Down’s Syndrome. She was a member of Briar Creek Baptist Church and attended Countryside Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Dwight “Bill” Weatherman and William “Royal” Prevette; by her beloved son, Steve Weatherman; a brother, Bobby Pardue; and a sister, Judy Shore. Surviving are her son, Stanley (Corinda) Weatherman; daughter, Tammy Weatherman; Stepdaughters, Ann Staley (Alvin), Lisa Dzeskewicz (Alen); grandchildren, Tyler Stevenson, Brandon (Kat) Stevenson, Jeffrey Weatherman, Sha (Ben) Biddix; great-grandchildren, Landyn Weatherman, Jack Biddix, Owen Biddix; her sister Jean (Tony) Gregory; a brother, Danny (Sherry) Pardue; several nieces and nephews; and the family would like to express their gratitude to a special caregiver, Alice Robinson for her love and compassion through the years. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 12 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Kevin Hobson. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Gordon Hospice Home of Statesville or to Shiloh Baptist Church in Hamptonville.
