Joanne Adams Barnett

Boonville Mrs. Tommie “Joanne” Adams Barnett, a beloved Mother, Wife, Sister and, Memaw, 69, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023. Joanne was born December 14, 1953, in Guilford County to Thomas and Edith Green Adams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Phipps. Joanne served the High Point community for many years in childcare & was a loving second Mother to many. She loved time spent with her family, especially in the sunshine and saltwater. Her cooking was one of the many things she was appreciated for. She enjoyed a lot of simple things in life. From fishing to gardening, to working beside her husband in furniture and renovations. She always looked for the best in people, and her kind heart made her a great friend to many. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Kirk Greene Barnett; two children, Tracy & Joshua Barnett; grandchildren, Hailey Smith, Blake Smith, Zack Barnett, and Zoey Barnett; great-grandson River Johnson along with numerous nieces and nephews; siblings, Linda McCauley, Jennifer Ranalli, & Martin Adams. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Barnett family. A celebration of her beautiful life will be held at a later date.
