Joel Thomas Ford, 53, of Jonesville, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on September 1, 2022, after a battle with lung cancer.
He was born on March 18, 1969 to Garland Ford and Linda Pardue Ford.
Joel attended Jonesville Elementary School and graduated from Starmount High School in 1987. He loved Starmount football and always looked forward to Friday night lights. Joel was an avid Carolina Tarheels fan, along with the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed life and never met a stranger.
Joel was preceded in death by his father, Garland Ford.
He is survived by a daughter, Chloe Renee Ford; granddaughter, Magnolia Kay Brown; mother, Linda Pardue Ford; sisters, Gwyn Zachary, Dawn Norman, April Ford Bates, and Libby Whitaker; nieces, Karsyn Bates, Chelsea Norman, and Keradyn Bates; aunts, Evelyn Jones, Marion West, and Vivian (Bud) Royall; uncle, Terry (Sandy) Pardue; numerous cousins, family, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Pastor Marty Wood and Pastor Josh Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Island Ford Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the palliative care team of doctors, nurses, and many other staff at Forsyth Medical Center for the compassionate care given to Mr. Ford and his family.
