John Sherman Eldridge

John Sherman Eldridge, age 72, passed away Friday, February 19, 2021. He was born June 15, 1948 in McDowell County West Virginia to the late Garland and Helen Sessor Eldridge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Christina Gail Eldridge; brothers, Robert, Ralph, George, Johnny, Eugene, and Junior. Eldridge; sisters, Bonnie Ashburn, Geraldine Royal, and Shelby Ballard. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Kathy Pack Eldridge; children, Tracy (Brian Doty) Eldridge Kollman, Christy (Randy) Eldridge Ellington, Little John (Ica) Eldridge, Denina (Whitney) Eldridge Tate; grandchildren, Brandon (Lindsey) Kollman, Luke (Amanda) Kollman, Jenna (Daniel) Lewis, Chelsea Ellington, Ellisynn Eldridge; great-grandchildren, Ben Kollman, Alex Gorman, John Thomas Kollman, Emmy Lewis; sisters, Barbara Jolly, Patricia Presnell, Rosette (Paul) Brewer; brothers, Donald Eldridge, Nathan (Bonnie) Eldridge, and Gary (Pat) Eldridge; special friends, Ronnie and Gracie Hall. Mr. Eldridge enjoyed fishing, playing softball, gardening, and he loved the Carolina Panthers, and UNC Tarheels. There will be a private family funeral service held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff of Hugh Chatham Hospital and Forsyth Memorial Hospital ICU staff, the critical Care Physicians and Dr. Denise Laurienti for the loving care shown to John.
