John Frank Bowen

Boonville Mr. John “Frank” Bowen, 87, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Bowen was born June 9, 1930 in Forsyth County to Curtis and Alma Brown Bowen. He was a member of Charity Baptist Church and enjoyed woodworking, gardening and having the family chicken stew. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowen was preceded in death by his wife, Hallie Doris Mounce Bowen; a brother, Kenneth Bowen; and a son-in-law, Alan Lassiter. He is survived by three children, Dennis (Jean) Bowen, Bonnie Lassiter, and Dale (Glenda) Bowen; grandchildren, Chris (Jessica) Bowen, Joy Bowen, Jeff (Amy Honeycutt) Lassiter, Shannon (Randy Via) Lassiter, Brandy (George) Gillian, Chance (Sarah Reinhardt) Bowen, and Lee (Dawn) Southard; great grandchildren, Jacob, Jairus, & Jaida Simpson, Sawyer & Darby Gillian, Arabella & Carver Bowen, Logan & Abby Wilmoth, and Carlee Southard; siblings, Clara Mae Macemore and Donald Bowen; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bowen; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Lee & Betty Church. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Monday, October 16, 2017 at Charity Baptist Church with Rev. Eddy Driver and Rev. Mattie Ponce De Leon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC 27017.
