John Anderson Hauser, “J. A.”,80, of East Bend passed away at his home Sunday, February 14, 2021. He was born in the Flint Hill community of Yadkin County on January 4, 1941, to the late Turner Wesley and Edith Hobson Hauser and is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Linda Norman Hauser; son, Greg (Laurie) Hauser; daughter, Johnna (Stacey) York; granddaughters, Dr. Katarina (Jimmy) Makaravage, Madison York, and Macey (Chandler James-fiancé) York; sisters, Patty (Bobby) Davis, Greta (Richard) Church; and brother, Steve (Brenda) Hauser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Greene. John, a member of East Bend United Methodist Church, retired from Southern Bell and was active for many years in the community serving in local PTA and Ruritan roles. His greatest joy and pride in life was his family. He cherished every moment spent with them, especially time spent with his granddaughters, who were his greatest source of pride. His granddaughters’ picture on the wall was his prized possession. He called it his “bragging picture.” He found much gratification from nature and enjoyed gardening and spending time at Lake Lookout. In addition to sharing many entertaining stories and much wisdom, he graciously shared his blessings from the garden and in general with others. He was a very big and hard-working man, but his heart and concern for others was perhaps his strongest feature. A private service will be held at a later date. Gentry Family Funeral Service in East Bend is serving the Hauser family. Online condolences can be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
