John "JC" Connor Stanley

Siloam Mr. John Connor “JC” Stanley, 78, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at his home. JC was born October 21, 1939 in Patrick Co. VA to Cecil and Gladys Culler Stanley. He enjoyed fishing, trips to the beach, farming and working on cars. In addition to his parents, JC was preceded in death by three siblings, Aldis Brown, Clifford, and Larry Stanley. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Minnie Taylor Stanley; four children, Linda (Benny) Poindexter, Brenda (Danny) Mills, Johnny (Sharon) Stanley, and Ronnie (Pam) Stanley; grandchildren, Benjamin & Samantha Poindexter, Bradley (Ann) Poindexter, Daniel (Melissa) Poindexter, Austin & Jessica Stanley, and Cameron & Hannah Stanley; great grandchildren, Tommy, Leah & Anna Collins, Cheyenne & Justin, and Mason, Adalyn, & Emmalee Poindexter; one sister, Amolene (Jerry) Poindexter; two brothers, Jack Stanley and Archie (Glenda) Stanley; a sister-in-law, Virginia Taylor; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 3:00PM, Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Copeland Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Terry Coe officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM prior to the service at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Shelburne, Dr. Vybiral, the staff of Jonesville Family Medical Center, and Surry County EMS for the wonderful care given to JC.
