John William Stewart, Jr.

Boonville Mr. John William Stewart, Jr., 87, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at his home. Mr. Stewart was born February 1, 1930 in Yadkin County to John and Bessie Hobson Stewart. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant UMC and enjoyed watching NASCAR. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Dudley. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara Bullins Stewart; son, Jimmie (Jean) Stewart; step children, Sandra (Chris) Daye, Gina (Barry) Shore, and Wendy (Will) Miller; grandchildren, Susan (Joe) Brooks, Shane (Andrea) Stewart, Savannah (Jonathan) Williams, Hayley Shore, Brianna Daye, Hillary Shore, Wesley Miller, Holly Shore, and Brady Miller; and four great grandchildren, Carlie and Rhyne Stewart, Haydn Brooks, and Vaida Williams. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00AM, Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Mt. Pleasant UMC with Rev. Robin Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00AM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant UMC Cemetery Fund 1524 Nebo Road Boonville, NC 27011.
