YADKINVILLE - Mr. Joseph Raymond Bentley, 67, of Lazy Acres Road passed away peacefully Friday, August 9, 2024 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born August 20, 1956 in Forsyth County to the late Raymond and Betty McMahan Bentley. Mr. Bentley was retired from R. J Reynolds Tobacco Company where he worked several years as a mechanic. He was of the Baptist faith, was able to fabricate and work on anything that had a motor. He loved restoring old cars, going to car shows, camping with friends and family, and going on his annual fishing trips. He was always a hardworker and was always willing to help anyone at anytime. His greatest love and enjoyment was his family, especially his grandchildren and children. Nothing in this world could compare to the love he had for each of them, and his fun spirit of always enjoying the moment, would show anywhere he went. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Golding. Surviving are his beloved wife of 48 years, Derolene Atwood Bentley; his loving sons, Brad Bentley and wife, Lindsey, Kenny Bentley and wife, Kayla; grandchildren, Reagan, Cole, Harper, Everly; his sister, Sharon Key and husband, Lester; and lots of loving family and friends, with a special heartfelt thank you to Terry & Carla Robbins, and Glenn Mitchell. In keeping with Mr. Bentley’s wishes, the family will receive friends for a time of Celebration of his life on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 6-8 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Mr. Bentley’s instructions to his wife were, “You are the Love of My Life since 1973. I want no service when I die, donate any body parts and make life better for someone else. Celebrate Life and Move On.”
